Today is Monday, January 23, 2017 and Mr. C is finally a daddy! I'm looking forward to being back with you all thinking about a new novel, a new ancient civilization, and a new Vsauce. What we will be getting into moving forward will take a new type of learning: APPLICATION. With your subs and before, we have been looking at Organizational Structures in informational texts. We have learned 6 types of Signposts to help us analyze stories we read. We have begun to look at sources outside of our stories to get an understanding of the story. Therefore, application comes into play by trying to put all of these learning experiences together to deepen our understanding of the things we read. We are going to apply what we know in order to better understand new things we read: APPLICATION.
There is a slight change in plans. We are going to jump ahead to our next book The Outsiders. Of all the books we read in 7th grade this one is probably my favorite. The story takes place in the 1960's which is one of the most interesting decades in terms of American Culture. The story involves two high school gangs of boys: The Greasers and The Socs. There is a movie based on the book which has some bad words in it making the movie a bit more edgy than the book. Most kids seem to like it. That said, our Vsauce (as promised) is the Vsauce on bad words. As always, have fun and enjoy!
Love, peace, and taco grease,
Daddy C
P.S. Here are just a few more pictures of Sawyer.
