Open House: Welcome to Persian House...

 Hello and good evening,

Today is Tuesday, August 30, 2016.  Mrs. Schwark and I are excited to welcome you to Persian House!  There are so many awesome things to share with you.  We hope you feel included and informed as we start our year here in Persian.  This is Think Spot, an online tool that Mr. C will be using here in Persian House to communicate, learn, and grow together.  There will be weekly updates, links, lessons, and photos that will connect to what we are working on together in class. Think Spot is different than the D.A.N. (Digital Assignment Notebook) even though they are connected.  Think Spot is more of an ongoing narrative of what is happening in the classroom.  Since Think Spot is a blog, there is also an area for followers to post comments. Mr. C will be teaching and showing students in Persian House how to post comments the first few days of school.

1. Vsauce - Why Are Things Cute?
2. TED Ed - The Sweaty Teacher
3. TED Talks -  How to Tie Your Shoe

The links above will take you to 3 short videos. If you click on the colored words the link will take you to the videos.  The first video is from Michael Stevens.  He is the creator of a Youtube channel called Vsauce.  He asks the best questions!  The second video is from a site called TED Ed.  It produces videos for a younger audience of learners.  The third video is for older audiences and is from an organization called TED (Technology Engineering and Design).  Enjoy the videos!  We may or may not be using them on the first day of school.

As we sign off here there are just a few reminders.  Please be sure to pick up your Persian House newsletter before you leave today.  Also, please bring a paper grocery bag and your school supplies on Thursday when you come for the first day of school.

Sincerely,
Mr. C

P.S. Be sure to share some Persian love with your teachers.  ;-)
