Today is Friday, December 10, 2010. Yesterday we did some choral reading of The Wolf Girl. I hope you enjoyed reading with me and the rest of our classes. The information in the fictional story and the non-fiction piece we read afterward (Running Wild) should provide you with connections or ideas you can use to BUST or CONFIRM your theories.
To start the day off today I would like you to grab a laptop and post one of your Extended DED entries. I will show you what I mean before you all start. At the end of class today we will get back on the blog and RESPOND to someone elses DED entry as a ticket out the door. Feel free to continue your work on your theories.

DIRECT QUOTE/QUICK SUMMARY...In the reading from yesterday there was an article called, "The Lobo Girl of Devil's River". It is a true account of a feral child in southwest Texas. It appeared in 1937.
This makes me think that Singh may have heard of a similar story and got the idea to make money for The Home. I think this CONFIRMS theory number 2.
"So What?"... This makes me want to find more stories that are similar to "LOBO GIRL". I want to find evidence that supports the theory that Singh made up a fabrication.

Many people believed wolf girls/boys existed, most of the time it is a wolf girl, in The Wolf Girl, it says the girl screamed like a little girl and howled like a wolf so does that mean that she can still be raised as a human?
This makes me wonder why it is usually a wolf girl and wonder if wolf girls/boys can still be raised as humans.
Many people believed they see humans that looked like wolves but i think that they really see wolves that look like human and have human properties.
DIRECT...the boy in the video from the other day hit his head and then couldnt learn language.
MY THINKING...maybee the wolf girls hit there heads in different spot and so they thought that they were wolves and if that were true sighn would be lieing for money for his orphanedge and for the publicity.
SO WHAT...i could look on the internet for a picture of were they were found to see if you could trip fall or hit your head on anything easly...and feral children are found in every place in the world so maybee he just lied.

The book i am reading right now is The Last Hunt.
Summary/paraphrase
I read that singh didn't marry acording to his parents traditional views and because of that he lost the money he would have inherited from his parents. I also learned that for each journal he publish about the WOLF GIRLS he recieved $500.000. I also learned most feral children were born with disabbilities and so they were abandoned and left in the woods. And without human influence their disabbilites worsened.
I also learned that he wrote his journal one year later after the incident and that he wrote not one but three stories about the wolf girls
These clues make me think that Singh was after money and he happened to find these children in the forest and he took them and told they were raised by wolfs and that they were feral children. He also spread it in such away that no one would doubt that it was a lie. I believe he was just after money for him and his home. Which is the only reason why he raised the children
So what
I hope to find more evidence for this theory so that i may prove it confirmed rather than just plausible. I have found more information about the wolf girls. The information that i got was that he got this idea from the story in texas about a feral child or maybe some other similar story and he just copied them to make money.

In an article I found on Amala and Kamala (The Wolf Girls) it states that Kamala was diagnosed with Rett Syndrom. I wondered what what Rett Syndrom was so I did some research.
Direct Quote/ Summary: Kamala was afflicted with a neurodevelopment disorder, Rett Syndrome.
My thinking (/connection): I wonder what Rett syndrome is. I have also heard of Mowgli syndrome, and Down syndrome. I waonder if there are connected in anyway.

THIS REMINDS ME OF the book Wolf Stalker by National Geographic when the boys and the girl were helping keep a wolf that got shot in Yellowstone National Park alive by keeping the wolf warm in a super cold winter night there.

I figured out the kamalia snd amalia could of have a brain injurie. One possible one that has all the same syndroms that the girls do was called Traumitic brain injurie. The syndroms are loss of speaking, late in groth, slower walking, unusall behavior, and phisical agression.
This makes me think back to the book about the two girls behavor. I think that both of the girls could of have a injurie whan they were yonger that caused them to act more like wolfs. Most things are in common with these kind of syndroms. For example lost of speaking is one of the syndroms and that explains how one of the girls only learned 100 words in her whole life. Late in groth possivley could expalin how both of the girls only walk on there hands and feet. Slower wallking like when they started to walk they wlaked slower. Also unusall behavior like eating raw meat and beatles. Also phisical behavior like biting and scratching. All of these thing the 2 girls did and it the same syndroms that were in traumatis brain indruie. This causes me to think that they had a brain injurie.

I learned a lot but something that realy stood out was that sing could of got an ida from stories like this one about the lobo girl and that she was raised by wolfs.
i am reminded of a movie that me and ny sister watched. it was about a little boy that was captured by seals he was raised by them until the people got him back it took him a long time to get used to them but it worked out in the end.

When you say you wonder if the girls ran on all fours at first, do you mean you wonder if they ran away from people trying to capture/watch ETC. them? Or if they ran/walked on all fours?
I agree with your comment about how the girls could have just met wolves, but they may never had even had any contact whatsoever with any source of animal kind. I would reccomend researching "Wolf Girls - Amala, Kmala" on Wikipedia, the have a many theories and inferences on The Wolf Girls. Your question might be answered there. Mckenna and I have many articles we printed out on the Wolf Girls in our binder we have in the classroom.

I think you have a great idea Garrbear. Singh could've easily made up a story based on a different story. I also think all he wanted was money to use for his orphanage and for the money he didn't recieve when he married without his family's tradition.

I considered if singh was a pretty greedy person but in order to know that i'd have to go back in time and observe and watch his charateristics. Unfortunatly though i cannot do that unless you decide to invent a time machine for me and let me go back in time.
So anyway i came into conclusion that he was a greedy man since i cannot go back in time. I think he is a greedy man because of the information that his parents disinherited him and he wanted to show them that he could make more money than what he would have inherited from his parents.

I am trying to make this theroy plausible by figuring out if he altered the photos of Amala and Camala in any way at all. He could of done it in pencil, but the pencil could of made a clear print on the photo and people could of problably see the marks made by the pencil or some other thing he could of had around that time.

I think that the girls did have mental problems. But I was thinking and the girls could have been found by wolfs. But the wolfs were going to eat the girls but when the hunters came the wolfs got mean because they were going eat the girls. If they were going to eat them that is why they were found in a wolf den.

Well first i looked at the map of where the Wolves lived in that time and they were no where near where he supposibly "Found" them.
Also because there had been a recent case of Feral Children Somewhere around the world(idk where,i forgot), and he probably heard about it and knew that if he made something up similer he would make money just as the other case "finder" did. Also his orphanage needed help with money so he used the money he earned to help the orphanage
