Today is Thursday, January 6, 2011. We will be jumping on the blog today to share some of our DISCUSSION DIRECTOR QUESTIONS. Your homework the past few nights was to read and think about questions. The questions you have written will be your blog post for the day/week. Let's check out this Brainpop on BLOGS.

Questions are sometimes hard for 5th graders. Sometimes questions come right from the book. Answers to those questions can be found right in the text. Questions that ask you for feelings and opinions take a little more thinking. These are DISCUSSION DIRECTOR QUESTIONS that get people talking.
We will be starting Book Clubs soon, and this is why we are spending so much time talking and thinking about questions. Book Clubs are kind of like literature circles except everyone is reading the same book in Book Clubs. We will be discussing some choices to wrap up our class today. I am reading the witches by roald dahl i just started but i already know it will be a great book.The question i had was "what is pneumonia and what does it do to you? i thought that beacause the grandmother had it and the doctor woulnt even let the boy go in to see her untill after a week and he wasnt supposed to walk to school alone because of witches but he had to because she could not walk him there so i think he may meet a witch but i think he will see that it is a witch and escape.

In my book (Inkheart) there is a man named Dustfinger that is chasing another peson in a car. Dustfinger is on a moped chasing the car. Even though the Dustfinger is far behind him in the book it says he can still see him because he's on a windy road.
Could you really see someone that far ahead of you... even on a windy road?
Do you sometimes feel like people are keeping back stuff they don't want you to hear about you?
hey Mr. C my director questoin is in my book geronimo (my main character) just found out that the Mona Mousa was actually a different painting! because there was a nother painting under the Mona Mousa!the man that works at the museum gave Geronimo a peice of paper with 11 pictures of landmarks in their town. What do think the 11 clues mean? and that was my disscusoin director question!
Diary of Wimpy Kid:
1: What do you think you would do if you had to wear Headgear everywhere? (it is something you have to wear for your overbite)
2: What does the sentance "Now you have to raise an egg for a day and bring it back in one piece" mean to you?
3:What do you think you would do if raising an egg counted for 25% of your grade and you had to bring it to school the next day and your mom cooked it for breakfast?
4:Why do you think almost all the boys broke their eggs right after class and they were already getting bad grades?
5:Why do you think the author made Greg's mom bake the egg instead of having him just bring it to school the next day and bump his grades up?
6:What is another way you think they could have fpound the deviled egg instead of just thinking it was in the walls?
7:Wouldn't you think Mr.Snella would have smelt the rotten deviled eggs as he was putting the plant on the moving van?

My book is from the Brixton Brothers Series it is called The Ghostwriter Secret. My question from that book is: It says in my book that Steve Brixton wanted to pack a good lunch so he could do good detective thinking. It also told me that he packed an entire box of fruit roll-ups, and 4 puddings. If you were Steve Brixton what would you put in your lunch to do good detective thinking?

Uma i think forests and trees are magical because faries and monsters can hide easer. A fairy or monster cant hide in a city. It would be too visible and people are going to freak out thinking Godzilla just came by.
