Good Day to You All,

The results are not all in yet so if you didn't do one find it in sharebuilding and save your results.  It is disappointing to me and I know to the debaters as well that instructions were not followed.  We now have to wait until next week to here the final results.  If you don't remember enough to fill out a BALLOT thats ok.  The transcripts from the back channels are available to you.  Go to: Bb9 - Exp Col Am Rev - Go Public - Debates.  Look over the transcripts from the backchannels and think back to what you saw yesterday.

Once you have done this there are two tracks:
Note:  Both tracks can find the blogs under Bb9 - Exp Col Am Rev - Go Public - Debates

Both of these pieces of writing will include:
3 observations of things that either went well or need to be revised for a later debate.

1 question that still remains about the debate process, historical content, the writing process of a thesis.

Your observations can include anything you noticed about:

Dear Mr. C
I thought that the debates yesterday went very well. One thing that went well were the facts and logic that were provided by each speaker. They gave good points of information to help support their perspective. However, some things that I saw didn't work out so well. Many of the constructive speakers didn't make good eye contact. They just stared down at the podium. I felt that this limited both their pathos and their ethos. I also saw that most of the debaters that were not speaking were acting inapropriatly. They were making jokes that didn't relate to the debate or what the speakers were talking about. I felt it really discredited their ethos.
I thought that some debaters did a pretty good job using the tools of persuasion. Ethos aloud them to establish their credibility. Pathos brought emotion to the speech and logos brought logic. When they brought all three of those pillars into a speech, I found them to be more persuasive than others. Also, the paraphrasing of each speech was excellent. When you are able to put a great text into your own words, you are able to put a large amount of logic.
One thing that I am still wondering about debates are if debates are always decided by groups of people, or is a single person selected to decide? How do they decide who wins?
