Elements of Fiction: Characters...

 Happy Monday Y'all,

Today is Monday, October 3, 2016.  We are putting grammar aside for a while so that we can start looking at something new: Elements of Fiction.  Fiction is one of many genres of writing.  You can tell the genre of writing by thinking of how it is written.  Genres of writing follow certain rules.  Fiction, for example, has certain components to it.  The component we will be looking at for the next couple of days is characterization.    Characters add depth to a story.  Characters can make or break a story.  Think of your favorite stories.  Who are some of your favorite characters of all time?

The Vsauce for the week is a good one something that we have all done.  I know that all of you have heard of the 5-Second Rule.  Some people even use the 10-Second Rule.  Eww, gross!  Michael from Vsauce explains the 5-Second Rule and what evidence is behind it.  Is it safe to eat food after it has fallen on the ground?  How quickly does bacteria collect on food upon contact?  These are some things to think about as we watch.  Have fun and enjoy!

Sincerely,
C

P.S. I bet you'll think twice before eating food off the ground next time.
