Let's dive back into text coding. Good readers INTERACT WITH TEXT. We all know that by now. A few weeks ago I showed you 3 text codes that we use to leave tracks in our thinking. We call this ANNOTATING text. We do it, not the author. Here are the three text codes i showed you:

At first I thought that the double question marks were discusion director question and R or C were response or comment. But now I know.

What I discussed with my partener was the text codes on the board were: ?? means you are confused about the text, R means the text reminds you about a time you had in your life, C means you can connect to the text.
?? means that you are confused about a part/sentance in the book.
R or C means that you can relate to the book or have a connetion.

Before our discussion today I thought that R meant real world connection but after I found out it meant: This REMINDS me of...
I thought that C meant Connection and I was right. Lastly I thought that ?? meant A question that lead to another question but after I found out it meant: Anything that doesn't make sence in the text.

At first I thought that R meant reflection but know I know that it means REMINDS ME OF Then I thought that C meant connection and i was right! Later on I had no idea what ?? meant then I thought it meant questionn leads to more questions. After that I learned that if me confused or anything that doesn't make sense in the text.

Hi Mr.C i haven't been on here for a long time anyway i thought the R or C was reading connections btu then i learned that R stands for reminds me of. And C stands for connections, then at first i thought ?? meant questions lead to more questions and then i learned that is means that you are confused. That is what i learned.

well when we had to think back about thr 3 letter or symble we did befor,!,?and the L it was like it was a year ago!! then i got it and i tell you what they stand for,but frist the new ones they are R,C and ?? they mean:

aand in the end it was fun to think back and have new leaning.

hey mr.c today you showed us the letters R and C and the symbols ??. bryce and dominick thought it was readig but i said no way why would it mean reading? I think it means reminder. They thought for one second and said that sounds more accurate we agree. Then we talked about the c we all said right away its connection it has to be so we agreed and said its connection. ?? hmmm what can that mean..... things we dont understand!!!! thats what that means:)!
