The Sumerians: Wheels, Wall, Words, and More...

Happy Monday Kids,

Today is Monday, October 26, 2015.  I hope you all had an outstanding weekend!  We have a big week ahead of us together in ancient history.  This week, you will be assigned a group for an activity called "Group Inquiry".  Below you will see some of the  topics we will be discovering throughout the week.

1. Housing-
What were houses made of?

2. Ziggurat-
What is this artifact?

3. City Wall-
What is the purpose of the wall?

4. Wheel -
What is this artifact?

5. Cuneiform -
What is this artifact?

We will be adding questions to these topics as our knowledge increases.  In class, we will continue to check into the blog.  Have a great Monday.  Do your best and forget the rest!

Sincerely,
Mr. C

Cuneiform is a way that the sumerians wrote words on clay tablets.

Hi Mr. C its Nicole Bonn from your A4. (What is this artifact?) A Ziggurat is a rectangular stepped tower, sometimes surmounted by a temple. Ziggurats are first atested in the late 3rd millennium BC and probaly inspired the biblical story of the Tower of Babel. (Gen. 11:1-9).

I also got this off of google because I wasn't at school when you tought this, because I fell down the stairs and sprained my ankle.
